Being in the science field I often read basic (but massive) errors in reporting, especially by these god-awful tabloid wannabes such as Sky.
If you read any reports, just ignore them (things such as a map of Europe covered in red, where this 'deadly virus' has spread-as if to insinuate this is on a par with say WWII or the number of millions of people dying from HIV/AIDS for example) as they are very misleading.
Firstly the dumbass Sky report claims E.coli is a virus. Wrong. Not even close.
Secondly 'the origin is thought to be in vegetables'. Well two things profoundly wrong with that- the bacteria are found on the surface (that means 'outside' for any Sky reporters reading this) and lastly, even a monkey knows that a cucumber is not a vegetable, it's a fruit.
