A weird weekend

After another quick week in the lab, things were looking quite superb for the weekend. The main event being our house warming party on Saturday night. So like any hosts, we got the beers ready among some other things. The people were ready, the planning flawless...........

Or so we thought. For some peculiar reason at around 3am, I woke up in a hot sweat like state. I tried to sleep it off, but 10 minutes later I got that salty taste in my mouth and yep, within seconds I was vomiting like a 15 year old after 2 beers. The best part was to come, as not only was it flowing nicely out of that end, guess what? Two words, Niagra Falls.

After a number of trips to the toilet in the next few hours, the morning came around. Usually when you've been sick and almost crapped your pants, you feel pretty good. However this was not the case. I spent all but 2-3 hours of the day in bed, ate a slice of toast and felt weaker than a new born puppy. My only choice was to cancel the evening entertainment, which I was pretty gutted about.

The next thing is to re-arrange. Hopefully people havent lost all faith and can make it to the next attempt. The good news is I've eaten more today, feel 100x better, not perfect but stronger and more lively. I managed to get outside today: went for a short short stroll to the gym, Friskis and Svettis, joined that, lost 2000 krs in one day and came home.

So back to the lab tomorrow. Annoyingly weekends are quite precious. You have 2 days to do things you cant do after work. Therefore being sick for a whole day feels like quite a big loss. My plan for this week is to see if I can make up some lost time. I'm not a magician, but busting my balls could give me that extra hour or two to get back some of the lost Saturday. Bring it on.

On a more positive note, I burst my huge blister on the ball of my left foot, so I no longer limp like a retarded, peg legged, 76 year old pirate- things are looking up : )

p.s. there was absolutely no alcohol involved, so yes you should have had sympathy for me.
